Development and milestones

The Development screen shows how your child is getting on against the milestones your facility tracks. Reach it from the More tab.

What you see

• A circle at the top with the share of milestones achieved, and N of M milestones achieved.
• Chips to filter by developmental area. All shows everything.
• Milestones grouped by age range, each with a status:
  • Not Started
  • Emerging
  • Developing
  • Achieved
• Recent Observations — notes teachers have written, newest first, each with its date and the area it relates to.

If you have more than one child, tap their name at the top to switch.

How to read it

Milestones are a record of what staff have observed at the facility, not a test and not a complete picture of your child. A milestone sitting at Not Started usually means nobody has recorded it yet, not that your child cannot do it — plenty of things happen at home and never get logged.

Age ranges overlap and children move through them at very different rates. Compare your child with where they were a few months ago, not with the range label or with another child.

If something here worries you, or you have seen your child do something that is not recorded, bring it up with their teacher — through Messages or at pickup. Observations are added by staff; you cannot add one yourself.
