Drop-in care is childcare booked occasionally rather than on a fixed weekly schedule, charged by the hour or the day. It fills capacity that would otherwise sit empty, but it complicates ratio planning because attendance is not known in advance.
Drop-in children still count toward ratio, group size, and licensed capacity, so bookings must be capped against the room rather than accepted freely.
Enrollment records, immunizations, and authorised pickup lists are required for drop-in children exactly as for enrolled children.
