CACFP

Child and Adult Care Food Program

CACFP is a federal program that reimburses childcare providers for nutritious meals and snacks served to enrolled children. Participating providers must meet meal pattern requirements and keep daily records of meals served and attendance.

Reimbursement depends on documentation. Meals served but not recorded, or recorded without matching attendance, are not reimbursed.

Meal pattern requirements specify components and portion sizes by age group, and are checked during monitoring visits.
